News:::
  Summer, 2007

News:
We have a couple new members Pete Nowick who is referred by Chuck Masny and JJ Williams who is referred by Chuck Wilson. Let's all show them a warm welcome to the group.
Brett Finnel comes back to us after a short hiatus - Welcome back,
good to have you.
It seems as though Thursday training is a hit many people have been showing their faces and we've been having some great energy flowing through the Dojo.
Speaking of energy... our very own Kenyon Robinson is about to start a group and branch off on his own very soon. Kenyon is an extremely talented Marital artist and has many brilliant ideas to explore, investigate and develop.
Let's all give him the support he deserves and help him in any way we can with his future endeavors.

Chuck W. has organized a great deal on swords from the Oni Forge.
Thanks for stepping up and giving us all an opportunity to participate in the purchase. We plan on testing these out some time this summer.
Doc Mike is organizing a cutting session for late August / Early September.

Also I must give mention to the outstanding work Doc Mike has accomplished with the kukishin Bo and yari curriculum. It is really coming together.

Promotions
We have had quite a few promotions this quarter
Pete and JJ on their white belts.
Doug on his Green belt
Kasia on her 9th kyu
Laura W (straps) on her 7th kyu
Chuck M on his 6th kyu
Chuck W on his Brown Belt
Good Job- Everyone is looking great - Keep going!

Vote
Chuck Wilson is looking into an air conditioning unit for the Dojo.
Once he decides on the make and model - we will cast a vote...
Personally I think it's a good idea.

Saturday Training
Due to lack of interest displayed by attendance I have decided to remove
our formal Saturday training session. This is not to say a training group can not get together and train. It just means that I may or may not be around to direct that training. The new Dojo is open pretty much 24 x 7 for anyone who wants the Mat Time.
Any Shori Black belt, or any Brown Belt with permissions has the right to hold a training session.

Black Belt Rings
Cami Cameron of Springfield is working on the Black belt award rings. Check out her work at
www.kamis-inspirations.com

Media Library:
New Media selections are 1997 Taikai, 1996 Taikai and the new 2006 Daikomyosai.
Try and return all selections within a month of sign out... This way everyone has viewing opportunities.

What's New?

School News -
Due to space and quality concerns we are unfortunately not accepting new enrollment without referrals. We will provide alternate training locations for those who are interested.

It is important for the group to train together and help each other down the path. Showing up is not only important for individual development but also for the group itself.
