News:
We have a new member Chuck Roberts aka Chuck-(san). Let's all show Chuck a warm welcome. He was referred to me by my sister Sue. Chuck is a seasoned Aikidoka and Judoka... He knows how to take a fall - Train with him and get to know him.

For anyone who missed the opportunity to cut  this year- We will be doing this training again in the spring and summer of '08. We will all need more time behind the bokken. I have been fortunate in acquiring a Bugei Crane and a Bugei Dragonfly this year - meaning the Chen Tsunami along with the Chen PPK has now become the communal property of the  Shori Dojo.

In Early December the Dojo we attended the Luke Molitor Kukishin Seminar in Morris. Special thanks goes out to Markk for hosting this event - even with all
the logistical craziness that comes with hosting a seminar - (sorry about your toe Matt) Markk really knows how to pull it all together and keep the training on track. As always, Luke did a phenomenal job in transmitting the Kukishin material to the crowd. Under his tutelage and guidance - our group (as well as most others) really got our form together. In my opinion, Laura "Straps" Worster had the best cut of the seminar (besides Luke - of course).
Her Mat sliding away from the stand like an afterthought -  prettiest thing I've seen in a long time. Thanks Straps!

Currently as a group we have been working on taking the balance of the attacker. This has been demonstrated and stated by practically every shihan/shidoshi since I first stepped into a dojo. Unfortunately, it takes a televised foot sweep on a popular reality show to bring the message weight. The best physical representation of this idea comes from Shihan Ed Martin. His one chance policy is something we all need to seriously drill and make our own.
This critical idea will be my focus of training for the year. That and getting my old knees in shape in order to sit and die before the Man.

What's New?

School News -
Due to space and quality concerns we are unfortunately not accepting new enrollment without referrals. We will provide alternate training locations for those who are interested.

It is important for the group to train together and help each other down the path. Showing up ON TIME
is not only important for individual development but also for the group itself.

Check out this Website www.bujinmag.com - developed by Markk Bush.
